During the 2008 - 2009 school year, Fillmore will serve over 2,390 students from 12 DCPS schools at two sites:  the newly renovated Fillmore West which hosts Key, Hearst, Hyde Stoddert & Ross, and Fillmore East in its new location serves Raymond, Truesdell, Garrison, West and Mamie D. Lee.  In addition, Fillmore staff provide the arts education for the Oyster/Adams Middle School students and the Walker Jones early childhood program. 

The core of Fillmore's philosophy is a belief that all children should receive a skill-based, quality arts education.

Fillmore also serves the greater metropolitan area through its after-school classes and summer camp at the Fillmore West site.

Did you know:

• Younger students take an hour of visual arts and an hour of music, dance and drama each week at Fillmore. All second graders will learn the violin.
• Students in grades 3 – 5/6 choose from electives like strings, winds, digital art, dance, drama, playwriting, music theater, and sculpture.
• Fillmore teachers are also practicing artists in their disciplines, and two of our dance teachers studied in Canada, Mexico and West Africa.
• Fillmore student work was recognized locally and nationally last year.
